The Crow

The last of the 10 free warm-ups is here, and it's The Crow. I absolutely love the movie (not the series), and I've been wanting to read the book, but haven't gotten around to it yet.

Decided to give him an all-black pigeon for company, because why not?

Thanks to all the deviants who asked for warm-ups, and to all those who just missed the cut. I'm sure I'll do this again soon, so keep an eye out on my dA account.

Terrax

Second to last warm-up for the dAers. This guy's name is Terrax. He's a Marvel character, or so I'm told. Never heard of him myself, and boy does he have a weird design. Sort of reminds me of Apocalypse's younger, less cooler brother...if he had one.

Beebee

Here's Beebee, a hot-to-trot big-boobied bee girl. She is the property of the lovely skullpunk666satan (more lovely than the name implies, I promise you). Been wanting to draw her characters for sometime, and you can bet yer butt this won't be the last.

Another warm-up for the folks at dA. This one is of a Battle Walrus. Was told to go crazy. Thought it would be cool to see a walrus wearing chain mail. Woot!

Wallace Shawn is a difficult little bastard to nail down. I like how Inigo came out, though.

The Hairy Russian

I'm toying with doing a theme for my warm-ups next month: A villain a day. From the complex to the sublimely simple to the incredibly stupid, these would be villain ideas for my super space hillbilly, Cracker Ace to battle ... because what's a hero without his villains anyway?

Here's an example of what I'm talking about. I don't have an official name for him yet, so for now I'm calling him The Hairy Russian.

Cracker Ace: Hillbilly in Space

Simple line-art for my toon, Cracker Ace. Still tweaking the design, and the overall concept. Now I'm thinking, instead of just being in a trailer park, I might set the story in a trailer park in space.

Sort of like Buck Rogers meets Hee-Haw.

The Grand Galactic Inquisitor

Here's a little diddy of The Grand Galactic Inquisitor, a character from "The Venture Bros."

Like the Evil Midnight Bomber What Bombs at Midnight is to "The Tick," The Grand Galactic Inquisitor is to "The Venture Bros." A classic one-shot villain, who really isn't much of a villain, but is damn fun to watch.

Went a bit nuts with the colors here. I'll probably look to do something with this down the line, just for giggles. Maybe a shot of the GGI and the Midnight Bomber, hmm?

Okay, here's the last Stranger Danger update (for now). Wanted to end it with a shot of one of the main characters, Strange. Don't ask me what he is, just know what I know, which is that he's a he, with kickass chops and big ears. haha

Horror Icons

Thinking about doing some stuff for Halloween this year, so I figured I'd start getting in the proper groove with some horror movie icons. Clockwise: Pinhead (barely), Chucky, Freddy Krueger, Jason Voorhees.

Expect to see more of these guys, and their brethren in the coming days.

Freddy Krueger

Got the itch to sketch Freddy after reading today that Billy Bob Thornton is gonna take over for Robert Englund. Never saw that coming, but I think it works. Billy's naturally creepy, and if he takes it seriously, it could turn out to be a huge win for horror fans.

Never drawn Orko before, despite He-Man being one of my favorite cartoons. Drew this from memory, which is why I forgot his ears. Doh!

Figured I'd break out the sharpies, and color it up for giggles.

Cracker Ace

Here are some quick sketches of my character, the Heroic Hillbilly, Cracker Ace. I'm still working on his design, though I think I'm pretty much there. Just need to do some tweaks here and there. I hope to do something with him in the form of a comic book, or webcomic mini-series sometime early next year.

Huge fan of The Venture Bros. The Monarch is easily my favorite character on the show, so I had to draw him. Might do something with this down the line.
